This is an interesting little diversion - I'm looking forward to more scenarios and encounters!
I've been a fan of Ambrosia's Escape Velocity series for years, and am looking forward to Space Exploration. Once I play it for a while, I'm sure I'll have a couple of suggestions.
I can't wait for this game to become a full version - you actually have a feeling you're a captain of a spaceship (except that none of your crew members are Redshirts (EDIT: haha, I've just noticed that there is Reginald Edshirt among my crew. R. Edshirt, anyone? Simply brilliant)) on an important mission. I will surely pay for the expansions, I can almost imagine writing a captain's log of the ship :D
Yes, I particularly liked the sense of humor in this game "R. Edshirt" is great. The Pan-Opta's constant attempts to communicate about "meat" also made me laugh. And I love the scientist who "has been researching the time flies of Veris III."
I hope to see more humor like this!
