Every time you transition between different screens (e.g. orbiting a planet) when playing under windows vista the screen flickers insanely - sometimes between the two screens, sometimes between them and a third previously seen screen. It renders the game nearly unplayable. The same problem is not present under linux.

Actually this happens in more cases than I thought: Also help tooltips, and occasionally random other things while moving.
At a guess, it looks like a problem with your buffering strategy because of the way it sometimes shows screens from ages ago.
